A QR Code (it stands for "Quick Response") is a smartphone readable barcode that is sweeping the advertizing world by storm. Originating in Japan, then moving to Europe, it is now being seen more and more in the U.S. I'm seeing it in print media advertisements, on product displays in stores, on autos and panel trucks.
In its simplest form, think of a QR code as a "print based hypertext link." The QR code can contain a link to your websit or an SMS mesage, V-card data or just text describing your product or service. The scanning device on the phone will open up the correct application to handle the encoded data appropriately.
